The Doe River Series
"The Doe River" series of bamboo flyrods was inspired by my memories of many days of fishing on the Doe River in Tennessee with my friend and confidant R. Todd Burleson. The Doe River holds one of the finest populations of Wild Trout in the southeast. However, due to the heavy cover, and short casting distances this stream is best fished with a shorter rod that will load up line quickly.
The Doe River Series of rods are designed specifically for these types of fishing conditions.
The "Doe River" can be ordered in many different lengths and line weights. Most commonly ordered weight is a 4/5 weight rod at either 6'6" or 7'.
The Doe River's silk wraps are a true work of art. The winding check wrap, the signature wrap, ferrule's and tip top wraps are done in a dark "Hunter Green" color that was the favorite color of my late friend R. Todd Burleson.
Todd and I fished the Doe River in Tennessee many times together, sharing the experience of flyfishing and good conversation. That is why I use that color on those wraps. In memory of "Todd".
